KABANI – The other direction is a non-profit organisation promoted by a group of youngsters who love their native land and want you to love it too.
We are concerned about the impacts of tourism and tourism development on local environment and people’s livelihood. Our prime objectives are sustainable socio–economic development of local communities and conservation of natural resources that provide the basis of community livelihood.
Our core theme is that the benefits of tourism must go back to the communities.
We are working along the lines of community- based tourism, so that the benefits of this help in the development of local communities.
We are organising awareness programmes on the impacts of tourism, the environment, and opportunities for alternative forms of travel.
We are investigating the impacts of tourism on local communities and the environment.
We believe that responsible tourism can promote positive environmental and cultural ethics and practices.
We promote travel which supports these goals.
