Community Initiatives in Tourism
Named after the Kabani River, one of the rivers in Kerala flowing in the ‘other direction’ than most of the rivers in Kerala, KABANI is attempting to facilitate ‘other direction’ in tourism. Thus we started our work with communities like farmers, adivasis and fisher folk to build their capacity to develop better tourism programmes. Now we are facilitating community initiatives in tourism.
These programmes are community based initiatives focusing on sustainable socio-economic development of villages and the conservation of natural resources.
